Intended learning outcomes
Acquisition of knowledge about traditional building materials, based on theoretical‐ practical classes and laboratory practices. It is intended that the student
- understand the most important properties, application techniques, introduction to regulatory and regulatory requirements, degradation processes and the life cycle of each material;
- be able to discuss the selection of the most suitable material against the requirements of use, with a view to greater durability;
- acquire skills of new materials analysis and evaluation to be able to propose alternatives with better performance and durability;
- acquire understanding of the materials integrated in existing constructions, understand the anomalies and their processes of conservation or local rehabilitation;
- be able to evaluate and decide for the conservation, rehabilitation or removal of the material that integrates a construction.
